Ryan had to work a half day on Christmas Eve this year, so Garrett helped me finish wrapping a few last minute gifts. He's a pretty cute assistant if I do say so myself.
Once Ryan came home from work and our little buddy woke up from his nap, we made our first attempt at sugar cookies. He was so intrigued by the sprinkles and could not wait for me to take the seal off. Once the seal was off, he began pouring...and pouring...and pouring. Ryan and I were cracking up because he was so serious during the whole process.
We probably should have stopped him from literally emptying the entire shaker of sprinkles, but he was having so much fun. After all, everything is better with sprinkles. But once it was empty, someone was very upset. He kept asking and signing for more. Cue the tears.
Thankfully he was briefly distracted by cutting the dough. Then we had a lesson in patience as we baked the cookies, and a few more tears were shed.
But, it was all worth the wait!
That night we loaded up and headed out to spend some time with Uncle Jeff and Aunt JoJo. When we came back home we put G to bed (and forgot about cookies for Santa....oops!) and put out Garrett's presents from Santa. I think Ryan and I were more excited about this Christmas than any other Christmas we've ever had.
Even Hank was a good boy this year and received a few treats from jolly old Saint Nick too.
Then we headed to bed to get a some sleep before our hectic day, exciting Christmas day.
