School

Garrett moved up to the Toddler 1 class this week.  The only other little boy in his class moved up with him too.  Some of the other girls in his class will be joining them soon.  I was am very apprehensive about him going into this class with kids that are almost three months older than him.  They will have a set nap time on mini cots and have to have a lunch box.  I can't wait to hear how his first day of napping on a cot went.  He HATES laying on his back, even for a quick diaper change, so I'm sure this will be quite the challenge.  His new lunch box came in last week, and I love how it turned out!

Garrett has always adjusted easily to change, so I'm sure he will be just fine. Plus, his teachers have told me that he begs to go outside for rec time when he sees the toddlers outside.  This kid LOVES to be outside!  They have also noticed that he seemed bored and began letting him do some painting and crafts.  While some of the other kids in his class would cry because they didn't want to paint, he would cry because he had to stop and clean up!

Monday:  Garrett had a great day!  He loved rec time, took an hour nap on his cot, and was so excited to see me when I went to pick him up.  I did have to sign an incident report when I picked him up.  He fell and hit his head...again.

On a side note, when I was picking Garrett up, one of the little boys in his class saw that I'd dropped something and tried to help me by picking it up.  But when he stood up, he was standing UNDER  my dress!

He was absolutely exhausted, and fell asleep on the way home.

Tuesday:  Garrett ate a blue crayon today.  Well, not the whole thing, but at least one good bite.  It was stuck in one of his molars, but came out when he ate dinner.  He had another great day.  I even had a great surprise as his teachers e-mailed me a picture of him during nap time.  He played so hard that he fell asleep on the way home again today!

Hoping the rest of the week goes just as well.
