Christmas Day

Christmas morning everyone woke up feeling better and in much better moods!  Ryan and I woke up extra early, showered, and packed up the car for our big day before waking up Garrett.  I set up the video camera to capture his first Christmas morning.  Too bad I forgot to press record!  I did get a few clips of him playing with his toys though.

When we brought G in to the room I don't think he really knew what was going on.  It didn't take him long to figure it out though.  He really studied his rocking horse and played with the horses ears until he found that they conceal buttons that play music.  He thinks the song the horse plays is funny.

His rocking horse converts from a bouncer to a rocker.  We put the seat on, but I think we will be able to take it off soon.  He is learning to hold on and to keep his balance very quickly.

Hank enjoyed licking Garrett and helping him open his presents.

Opening his Little Blue Truck book.

Checking out his puzzle.

Garrett is our best gift ever!!

Mommy and Daddy got Garrett a 4-wheeler.  He LOVES riding around the house.  He is learning to push the power button himself.  He thinks it is funny when he pushes the button and the 4-wheeler lunges forward.  He stops to clap his hands, so it takes him a while to make it across the room.

The perfect spot for storing his paci!

We couldn't forget about Hank!  He got lots of treats and a new toy.

Of course we had to play with the boxes some.

Garrett opened his stocking to find some bubbles, The Very Hungry Caterpillar DVD, and bath toys.

We listened to The Night Before Christmas, read by the sweetest little bear Mimi and Pawpaw gave us.

Ryan got a new hand gun that he's been wanting, and I got a new camera.  Ryan also bought me a beautiful ring with Garrett's birthstone.  After opening our personal gifts, we loaded up and headed to my parents' house.

Mimi and Pawpaw cooked us breakfast and then we opened presents.

Mimi and Pawpaw got Garrett a motorcycle, clothes, a Playskool farm, Leapfrog book, and his very own remote control.

Mimi and Pawpaw gave Mommy a new Michael Kors handbag, a Vera Bradley wallet, and a new watch.  Daddy got some pajamas an LOTS of Cabella's gift cards.  We were all very spoiled!

After opening gifts with my family, we headed to my Aunt's house for lunch.  We couldn't stay long because the weather was starting to get bad and we still had to make it to Ryan's parents' for dinner!
Garrett experienced his first snow fall.

We had a quick lunch and Garrett Mommy opened a TON of presents before heading to Ryan's parents' house.

Grandma and Grandpa got Garrett a Mickey wagon, lots of clothes, a dump truck, a "push popper," a cell phone, mini animal cars, books, and a pop up game.  Uncle Chad gave him a guitar, a popper truck, and a xylophone.

Grandma cooked a delicious dinner!  After dinner, we took G outside to see the snow that had accumulated.  It was extremely cold, so we didn't stay out long...just long enough for him to touch it.

It was nice having "Aunt Summer" join us this year.  She is such a sweetheart!  Hopefully little Hunter will be able to join us next year too.

We headed home around 5:00, and with the weather, it took us almost 3 hours to get home.  Thankfully Garrett slept the whole time!  The roads were treacherous.  We saw many wrecks and watched drivers spin out of control.  We were so happy to pull into our driveway safe and sound!

Garrett had a great first Christmas, one that I will always remember!  I love my sweet boy and my amazing family.  We are so blessed to have such amazing families that spoil us rotten.

Merry Christmas!
