Weekend Fun

Since Ryan's dad had surgery on his shoulder, he hasn't been able to do some of his normal activities around the house and down at the country.  Ryan was off work this Friday and I was too, so we headed down to the country Thursday night.  Ryan mowed down at the country for his dad.  It was a big job, but he had fun using the riding lawn mower.  Little G worked hard too.  Being cute is hard work.

Grandma and Grandpa McCullough gave Garrett the cutest Easter basket full of goodies!

This was Garrett's first road trip.  We left the house around 6:30 and he stayed awake for about 45min. in the car.  He slept the rest of the way.  It was a 2 and a half hour trip, one way.  I almost had a heart attack on the way there. We dodged so many crazy situations. We were almost hit head on by a car that was doing about 90 mph and swerved into our lane.  The driver locked up their breaks and the entire intersection was filled with smoke from the tires.  Later, a dog ran out in front of us.  Luckily we were able to slow down enough for him to get out of the way.  Then, when we were almost to our destination, we ended up behind an 18-wheeler that couldn't stay in it's lane.  We don't know if the driver was drunk or falling asleep, but he was out of his lane more than he was in it!  We couldn't pass him for fear of being hit, so we just had to follow far behind him and patiently wait for our exit. God was really looking out for us!  Then, on our way home we saw two cars on fire. Garrett did great in the car and slept the entire way home the next day.

Friday afternoon Ryan and I took G to see the Easter bunny.  He was so sleepy when we arrived.  We got a few good shots before he'd had enough.  We should have fed him before his pictures and I'm sure we would have gotten a big smile out of him.

Saturday afternoon Ryan got to go to opening weekend and see the Rangers play.  He was so sweet and bought Garrett the cutest Texas Rangers gear.  It'll be a while before he can wear the hat, but the onesie, socks, and bib he will be able to wear this summer.

Mimi and Pawpaw came up to visit us on Saturday.  We went to lunch at one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants, did some shopping, and caught some of the Ranger's game.  We looked for Daddy on TV, but never saw him.

Sunday morning, we got up early to go to church to celebrate the true meaning of Easter with Mimi and Pawpaw.  This was Garrett's first time to go to church.  He did pretty good during the service.  Daddy had to go change a blow out during the service though.  He must have felt much better afterwards; he slept on Daddy's chest during the rest of the sermon.  I wish we lived closer to this church because I love the pastor and always enjoy the services there.  Hopefully Ryan and I will be able to find a church home near our house soon.

He looked precious in his Easter outfit.  I LOVE his baby Sperry's.  They are still a little big and kept falling off.

After church we met up with Ryan's parents, brother, and my Aunt Diana, Uncle Richard, and Dedra for lunch. We had a great time catching up with everyone.

Once we finished lunch we headed to the hospital to visit one of our dear friends, Bryan.  He was bitten by something last weekend and had a terrible reaction.  He now has a bad infection from the bites.  The doctors are trying to figure out what type of infection he has so that they can treat it appropriately.  We are praying that he has a speedy recovery!

Happy Easter weekend everyone!
